Illustration Friday - Missing

This idea popped into my head as soon as I saw this week's topic. At first I was going to make a landscape for the puzzle, but then I thought about the Mona Lisa, and how everybody always talks about her enigmatic smile. How appropriate to have a missing puzzle piece be that very smile!

I also learned something about Photoshop this time, since I hadn't known there were extra textures that could be loaded from the presets, so now I know!

  1. The mystery of Mona Lisa is truly missing. The wonder and question of centuries...

Good idea, I like it, although I feel a little disturbed since the eternal question -why does Mona Lisa smile- is gone:)

  2. I'm glad you took that silly smile off her face! Clever.

  3. Can we make our own version of "The smile" and fill it in? :)

    Well done!

  4. I actually thought about doing something like this. A puzzle piece missing from a famous painting. The Mona Lisa is perfect. Great job and story line.
Instead of wondering why she smiles, the world would be either looking for the missing piece or more likely would be inserting their own replacement. Could be interesting.
